Ecology

Paving stones have been around for over 5,000 years. The first roads around 3,000 B.C. were made from segmental paving units on the isle of Crete. The Romans, more than two thousand years ago, used tightly fitted cut stone set on a compacted aggregate base to create superior roads. Today, tourists walk those same roads over the original paving stones. Simple, economical, durable, and virtually maintenance-free, the Roman system became the concept for a versatile paving solution.

When you build with stone, you are using a material which has already endured the test of time. Due to recent advancements in stone cutting technology, natural stone is not only the most durable and non-polluting material available, it is now more affordable than ever.
