Porphyry Stone

These elements also called narrow bricks, are mostly used for paving that require rough surface, such as those with strong slopes. These files are small porphyry slabs with upper and lower cleft surface and split edges. Sizes are width form 2" to 3", length from 6" to 16" and height from 2" to 4".

Smolleri is usually laid in parallel rows with the split face as the visible surface. Herringbone patterns using smolleri are mostly seen in vehicle ramps where roughness of the traffic surface is a key factor.
